Latest update on UML voting..

Kathmandu: Vote counting for the election of the new leadership of the CPN-UML is continuing.

According to the party’s Election Committee, a total of 1,139 votes have been counted so far. In the race for Chairperson, KP Sharma Oli has secured 843 votes, while Ishwar Pokhrel has received 296 votes.

For the post of General Secretary, Shankar Pokhrel has obtained 613 votes, whereas Surendra Pandey has received 513 votes.

Similarly, in the Vice-Chairperson category, Bishnu Paudel, Prithvi Subba Gurung, Gokarna Bista and Ram Bahadur Thapa ‘Badal’ are maintaining their lead. In the contest for Deputy General Secretary, Yogesh Bhattarai, Raghubir Mahaseth and Lekhraaj Bhatta are leading.

The UML Election Commission said vote counting is expected to be completed shortly.
