CM Kandel for speeding up budget implementation

Karnali, April 22: Chief Minister of Karnali Province, Yam Lal Kandel, has said it was imperative to speed up budget implementation.

CM Kandel directed the ministers and secretaries for effective enforcement of the budget during a review meeting held at Birendranagar on Monday. The provincial government had a third quarterly review of the current fiscal year.

He reminded them that they still had time to utilize the budget well to realize change as per the budget target. The CM, however, said there was some progress in budget spending in recent times. The provincial government has aimed to spend 80 percent of the budget in the current fiscal year.

The ministers and secretaries were questioned why the budget spending was not gaining pace as expected, despite having adequate human resources. The provincial government did not adequate workforce earlier, thereby hindering development works and slowing budget implementation.

“I draw the attention of ministers and secretaries to ensure good governance and effective budget enforcement,” he mentioned during the review meeting. According to him, people are waiting for change, for which, change in traditional work style is imperative.
