532 beehives distributed to farmers in Sarlahi
Barahathawa, April 22: A Total of 28 beekeepers have been provided with beehives in a bid to foster commercial beekeeping in Sarlahi district.
The beekeepers were handed over 532 hives and other accessories amidst a program organized on Monday. In collaboration with the Nepal Apiarists’ Federation Sarlahi chapter, an organization stationed at Bardibas, provided the materials.
Chairman of the Federation, Dambar Dev Pande, informed that 28 farmers keeping bees in the Chure region- Lalbandi, Ishworpur, Hariwan and Bagmati- were handed over the beehives. The beehives and other materials were, however, provided in a grant.
Apiarist Hemraj Devkota informed that he even received a machine used to make an enclosure for bees. During the distribution program, the Mayor of Hariwan municipality, Hari Maya Ghalan, informed that the scheme would contribute to the sustainable development of the apiary.
