Ruling parties discuss on bringing new bill related to land management

Kathmandu: The ruling parties have held discussions on the ordinance related to land and are preparing to take a new ordinance on land management in parliament.

A meeting of the top leaders of the ruling parties held at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar today discussed on moving ahead the bill by addressing the concerns of the Janata Samajbadi Party Nepal regarding the ordinance.

Nepali Congress Chief Whip Shyam Kumar Ghimire, who was present in the meeting, said that the party has decided to move forward the draft of the new bill regarding the land ordinance.

“There were some concerns about the land ordinance of JSP Nepal. The Prime Minister clarified this matter in the meeting. With the basis of same clarity, there was talk of making provisions in the bill. We have almost reached a consensus stage,” he said.

Prime Minister and CPN (UML) Chairman KP Sharma Oli, Nepali Congress President and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, Janata Samajbadi Party Nepal Chair Upendra Yadav, Janamat Party Chair CK Raut, Janata Samajbadi Party Chair Ashok Rai, Nagarik Unmukti Party Chair Ranjita Shrestha, among others, were present in the meeting.
