Nepal Police Club clinches PM Cup Men’s Cricket Tournament title

Bhairahawa, March 29: Nepal Police Club has clinched the title of Prime Minister Cup Men’s National Cricket Tournament.

In the final match held at Siddhartha Cricket Stadium, Bhairahawa, today, Nepal Police won the title defeating Tribhuvan Army Club by six wickets.

Chasing the 155-run victory target, Nepal Police won the match in 25.2 overs at a loss of four wickets. For the victory, Kushal Bhurtel made 61 runs in 70 balls.

Similarly, Amit Shrestha scored 39 runs while Dilip Nath 31 runs (not out). Sahab Alam took three wickets while Naren Saud one wicket respectively.

Earlier, invited to bat first, Tribhuvan Army Club made 154 runs losing all wickets in 43 overs.  Basir Ahmed gathered 86 runs in 104 balls while Captain Binod Bhandari 29 runs, Bibek Yadav 11 runs. Other batsmen of the Tribhuvan Army Club failed to score double digit runs.

Likewise, Nepal Police’s Karan KC and Sagar Dhakal took three wickets each while Captain Dipendra Singh Airee two wickets, Lalit Rajbanshi and Gulshan Jha one wicket each.

A total of 10 teams including departmental teams of the Nepali Army, the Nepal Police and the Armed Police Force participated in the tournament.
