Lawmakers demand a thorough investigation into the seizure of approximately 250 million rupees from a truck in Tokha

March 19, Kathmandu: During Wednesday’s House of Representatives meeting, lawmakers called for a comprehensive investigation into the seizure of approximately 250 million rupees worth of dollars and euros from a truck in Tokha, demanding effective probes to identify the main culprits.

They raised concerns over widespread losses from wildfires in Khotang and other areas, calling for relief and prevention measures.

The government was criticized for neglecting education, particularly SEE exam arrangements.

Lawmakers also highlighted a dispute in Dhanusha’s Sabaila, where police fired injured people, demanding free treatment for victims.

Nepali Congress whip Shyam Ghimire apologized for his controversial remark on legalizing the sex trade. Additionally, delays in road infrastructure and development projects were flagged, with lawmakers urging better management of SEE exams to ensure a safe and accessible environment for students.
