Deuba highlights role of ex-servicemen in strengthening democracy

Patan: President of Nepali Congress (NC) and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said the contribution of ex-servicemen in each democratic movement in the country is commendable.

Inaugurating the sixth Central General Convention of the Nepal Ex-Servicemen Association (NESA) at Sanepa in Lalitpur today, the leader claimed that a strong Nepali Congress is needed for the strengthening of democracy and the country’s prosperity.

‘The rights of all communities will be ensured in democracy, ‘ said NC President Deuba. He further said the party is aware and clear of NESA issues, including grievances and discrimination in pensions and all other benefits for them, adding the party is working to create an atmosphere to address their concerns.

NC Joint General Secretary Bhishmaraj Angdembe highlighted the dedication of ex-servicemen to the strengthening of the party.

NC Women Department Chief and party central member Pushpa Bhusal said the ex-servicemen are with the country in each political ups and downs, contributing to promoting the country’s image internationally.

NC central member Dila Sangraula said ex-servicemen have a significant contribution to the establishment and restoration of democracy. The General Convention will run till March 8.
