HoR session: lawmakers raise various issues

Kathmandu: In a meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR), lawmakers urged the government to ensure sufficient budget allocations to those incomplete projects.

The Lawmakers stressed that the budget for the upcoming fiscal year should be focused on concluding the incomplete projects.

Shyam Kumar Ghimire of the Nepali Congress said that the road project of strategic importance in electoral constituencies is in limbo. He also underlined the need of implementing the University Act.

Lilanath Shrestha of CPN (UML) claimed that dairy farmers and construction companies have got their payments after the formation of this government, that has also been able to bring the country’s economy back on its track.  He said,’It is concerning that the misuse of social sites is growing.’

Hit Bahadur Tamang of CPN (Maoist Centre) accused that the government has failed to become accountable to the citizens, adding that it is not treating Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA)’s managing director Kulman Ghishing fairly.

Shishir Khanal of Rastriya Swatantra Party demanded the withdrawal of suspension against party Chair Rabi Lamichhane. Rajendra Prasad Lingden of Rastriya Prajatantra Party demanded the release of people arrested for their engagement in the ‘no cable car’ movement in Pathibhara of Taplejung.
