Kulman Ghising could not be evaluated since performance assessment report was not submitted on time: Energy Minister Khadka
Kathmandu: Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Deepak Khadka has clarified that his Ministry could not evaluate Kulman Ghising, Managing Director of Nepal Electricity Authority since he did not submit the performance assessment report on time.
Responding to the queries raised by parliamentarians in today’s meeting of the House of Representatives, Minister Khadka explained that the performance evaluation report was supposed to be submitted by mid-September last year but it was submitted by mid-January this year.
Khadka viewed that the problems surfaced after Ghising repeatedly disobeyed the Ministry’s request to submit the performance assessment within the deadline and sent the assessment giving scores to him arbitrarily after the deadline.
He also shared that the NEA had projected Rs 22 billion to be collected as an outstanding payment from dedicated feeders and trunk lines as its profit. According to him, the profit made by NEA could not be ascertained due to various reasons.
Therefore, he said that the NEA’s shares would be sold only after finding out the reality.
The Minister highlighted the importance of compliance of policy, regulations and legislation and said that his Ministry was also going to practice what he preached.
