Radhika’s autobiography is based on true accounts, PM says

 

Kathmandu: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has stated that First Lady Radhika Shakya’s autobiography ‘Karuna’ is based on true accounts.

Releasing the autobiography of the First Lady in Kathmandu on Saturday, the PM shared that the book has no fictional content adding that he was also a witness to the book.

“I can confidently say the book is as original as 24 carat (gold). No one can challenge its originality,” the PM said.

PM Oli also said that his house at Balkot in Bhaktapur was not built from his income. “This house is all from the income and hard work of Radhika. The house is now endowed in the name of trust.”

PM Oli admitted that he would not have lived if Radhika were not there in his life.

The Prime Minister expressed his reservation about the false narratives spread about his economic matters and called them as rumours adding that he joined the movement by keeping his life at stake for the sake of the country and people’s rights.

PM Oli stated that establishment of the democratic republic in the country was an achievement.

“There are some forces undermining by stating that a jailbird coming out from the jail with a set of slippers is now the PM. Perhaps they expect to be ruled by the crown. They don’t want to see a citizen becoming the Prime Minister,” Oli added.

Likewise, writer and First Lady Shakya said she feels sorry for making negative comments and disseminating rumours about Oli, who she said is tirelessly active for the country.

She said she built the house at Balkot after serving the Central Bank for 33 years and is still getting a pension money to manage her expenses.

“Our lifestyle is common. I feel happy to support the poor and hapless. I am ready to submit each and every details of the income. The house in Balkot was built with our sweat and hard work,” the First Lady said.

Likewise, commentators of the book said that the book has given the message that a ray of hope could be lit in the hard times of life too. They said the book was the details of ups and downs of the First Lady’s life.

UML leader Pradeep Gyawali said the book provides inspirations to all to live life even in difficulties.

Singer Ani Choying Drolma said both writing and life of Radhika Shakya were filled with compassion.

Writer Amar Neupane said PM Oli’s confidence and firm determination as well as Radhika Shakya’s contribution to that end could be understood by reading the autobiography.

On the occasion, the event organizer extended congratulations and expressed felicitation to PM Oli and First Lady Shakya on their 37th marriage anniversary.
