Mobile consular camp in British Columbia’s Surrey
Kathmandu, Feb 20: The Ottawa-based Embassy of Nepal conducted a mobile consular camp in Surrey of British Columbia province of Canada from 15 to 16 February 2025.
The camp was conducted in collaboration with the Hindu Buddhist Foundation of Canada (HBFC), Nepal Cultural Society of British Columbia (NCSBC), Non-Resident Nepali Association Canada (NRNA) and other community organizations of Nepali Diaspora in that province, the embassy said.
Nepali nationals, particularly Nepali students in British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Alberta provinces of Canada, received passport renewal and other consular services on the occasion. For some time, the Embassy has been striving to deliver services closer to the provinces where there is a sizeable presence of Nepali Diaspora and students, stated a press release issued by the Embassy on February 19.
Coinciding with the occasion, the Embassy also held a meet and greet session with Nepali Diaspora entrepreneurs in Vancouver on February 15. Prominent members of Nepali Diaspora entrepreneurs made presentations on their journey of business and the success they have achieved.
Ambassador of Nepal to Canada Bharat Raj Paudyal encouraged entrepreneurs to utilize their niche skills, expertise, and potential to grow and prosper. Highlighting the policy reforms brought by the Government of Nepal, he invited the entrepreneurs to contribute to promoting trade between Nepal and Canada and bring technology, know-how and investments to Nepal. —RSS
