Today’s weather forecast: Four provinces likely to have partial to general changes in climate

Kathmandu, Feb 20: Presently the country has witnessed partial impacts of westerly wind and westerly low-pressure system.

The weather, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, will be partly to generally cloudy in Sudurpaschim, Karnali, Lumbini and Gandaki provinces and fair in the rest of the provinces. There is also foggy weather in some parts of the Terai.

According to the Division, the weather will be partly to generally cloudy in the rest of the hilly regions, including Sudurpaschim, Karnali, Lumbini, and Gandaki provinces, and fair in the rest of the country this afternoon. Light rain with thunder and lightning is likely to occur at a few places in Lumbini, Sudurpaschim, and Karnali provinces and one or two places in the hilly regions of the rest of the country.

Light snowfall is likely to occur at some places in the high hilly and mountainous regions of Sudurpaschim, Karnali, and Gandaki provinces and at some places in the rest of the high hilly and mountainous parts of the country. Similarly, the weather will be partly to generally cloudy in the Sudurpaschim and Karnali provinces and partly cloudy in the rest of the hilly regions of the country tonight.

In the next 24 hours, light snowfall with thunder and lightning is likely to occur at a few places in the hilly regions of Gandaki, Sudurpaschim, and Karnali provinces and one or two places in the hilly regions of the rest of the country, including Lumbini province, and at a few places in the high hilly and mountainous regions of the rest of the provinces.

It has urged all concerned to remain cautious given the partial effects of the weather on health, roads, and aviation. —RSS
