Special ceremony held to mark National Democracy Day 2025
February 18, Kathmandu: A special ceremony was organized at the Army Pavilion in Tundikhel on Wednesday to mark National Democracy Day 2025. The Main Ceremony Committee hosted the event, featuring cultural performances and a military parade.
President Ram Chandra Poudel attended the ceremony, where the Nepali Army offered a salute in his honour. A Nepal Army helicopter displayed a banner reading “National Democracy Day,” showered flowers, and released doves as a symbol of peace.
The Nepal Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, and Nepal Scouts performed a march-past and band display. Local levels from the Kathmandu Valley presented cultural performances with traditional musical instruments.
Vice President Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, Chief Justice, Speaker of the House of Representatives Devraj Ghimire, Chairman of the National Assembly Narayan Prasad Dahal, Deputy Prime Ministers, ministers, parliamentarians, officials from constitutional bodies, high-ranking government officials, representatives of diplomatic missions, and various dignitaries were also present at the event.
