Nepal, Bangladesh and China painting exhibition underway
Kathmandu: A tri-nation painting exhibition themed ‘Watercolour Odyssey’ has begun at the National Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) at Naxal, Kathmandu from Tuesday.
Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Chen Song inaugurated the exhibition jointly organized by the NAFA and the Siddhartha Art Gallery.
A total of 40 watercolour paintings by painters from Nepal, Bangladesh and China have been put on display in the exhibition.
Chinese Ambassador Song said that the exhibition had further brought China, Nepal and Bangladesh closer. He was confident that this event would contribute in further strengthening mutual relations among the participating countries.
The Chinese envoy also inquired about the artists whose paintings were shown in the exhibition and appreciated their artworks.
Similarly, NAFA’s Vice-Chancellor Lalkaji Lama recognized art as the bridge between world’s languages and cultures thereby further fostering unity. He was hopeful that the event would promote fraternity and facilitate cultural exchange among the three countries.
Likewise, Nepal Tourism Board’s Director Nandani Thapa asserted that the exhibition had unraveled the archeological cultural beauty of the South Asia.
Chief curator of the exhibition and NAFA’s scholar Pradeep Shakya anticipated that the event would help produce skilled artists.
Six artists each from Nepal, Bangladesh and China have displayed their artwork at the exhibition that will run until February 22.
