Government working through diplomatic channels on the death Nepali student in India: PM

Kathmandu: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that the government was working through diplomatic channels to address the matter of the death of a Nepali student in the hostel of Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) in Odisha, India.

Taking to his social media, Prime Minister Oli shared that the government was working diplomatically on the matter.

‘It has been reported through the media and social media that a Nepali student has died in the hostel of Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) in Odisha, India, and that Nepali students have been subsequently forcibly evicted from the hostel. The government is working diplomatically on this matter,’ said PM Oli.

Prakriti Lamsal, a Nepali student at the KIIT, was found dead in the girls’ hostel of the Institute.
