10th Nepal-Pakistan Friendship T20 Cricket Tournament concludes with grand ceremony

February 16, Kathmandu: The 10th edition of the Nepal-Pakistan Friendship T20 Cricket Tournament-2025 concluded on Sunday in Kathmandu with a vibrant closing and prize distribution ceremony.

The tournament, which began on 8 February 2025, featured twelve teams from various clubs and showcased thrilling cricketing action. Himalayan Cricket Academy emerged as the champions, while Angles Sports Academy secured the runners-up position.

Dhruba Acharya, Vice President of the National Sports Council of Nepal, praised the Pakistan Embassy for organizing the successful event, highlighting its significance in strengthening Nepal-Pakistan relations and providing a platform for emerging Nepali cricketers. He noted that the tournament has become a staple in Kathmandu’s sporting calendar.

Pakistan’s Ambassador to Nepal, Abrar H Hashmi, reiterated the embassy’s commitment to fostering youth engagement through such events. He congratulated all participating teams, especially the winners, and thanked guests, sponsors, and organizers for their support.

Distinguished guests, including  Chen Song, Ambassador of China to Nepal, Noha Hamdy Ahmed Elgebaly, Ambassador of Egypt to Nepal, and Dr. Pema Gyamtsho, Director General of ICIMOD, attended the ceremony.

The event, supported by Himalayan Bank Limited and Global IME Bank, was attended by diplomats, civil society representatives, media, and the Pakistani community.
