Ninth Tanahun Festival kicks off

Dumre (Tanahu): Deputy Prime Minister and Urban Development Minister, Prakash Man Singh, has said that it would be easier to steer the country towards the path of prosperity through the development of agriculture, technology and energy.

Inaugurating the Ninth Tanahu Agriculture, Tourism and Technology Festival organized at Damauli today, DPM Singh expressed the view that the country could be made prosperous from the development of agriculture, tourism and energy sectors.

The festival is being organized under the theme – ‘Tanahun Festival: Our Base, Infrastructure of Socio-Economic Development’. Sharing that the festival would help promote local productions, he mentioned, ‘Tanahu has played a significant role in the economic development of the country.

The cultural identity of Tanahun has been supportive of tourism promotion. Such types of festivals have established multi-lingual and multi-cultural identity.’

Similarly, the President of the Tanahun Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Coordinator of the Festival Main Celebration Committee, Baikuntha Nath Mishra, mentioned that it would be easier to sell farmers’ productions through the medium of festivals.

Priority has been given to agro-products in the festival, he added. The festival, which has 200 stalls of different goods including agro products, and local handicraft goods, would run till January 20.
