National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority calls for precaution against cold
Kathmandu, Dec 27: The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) has urged for taking precautions against cold, citing the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology’s information about the impending cloudy weather from the afternoon today.
NDRRMA spokesperson Dijan Bhattarai has urged for taking precautions as the cold and cold wave will intensify resulting in health problems due to cold.
He said snowfall is forecast in the high hilly and mountainous region, rainfall in various places and cold waves in the Tarai region.
The Meteorological Forecasting Division, issuing a special weather bulletin today, stated that the weather will be partly to generally cloudy in many places of the country from today afternoon due to the influence of the Westerly low-pressure system.
The Division has forecast light to moderate snowfall in most of the places of the high hilly and mountainous region in Sudurpaschim and Karnali provinces, and at some places in the high hilly and mountainous region in Gandaki, Bagmati and Koshi provinces on Saturday.
