33 kms road blacktopped in Haldibari
Baniyani (Jhapa), Dec 27: The Haldibari Rural Municipality in Jhapa district has blacktopped 33 kilometers of road in its area after the restructuring of the local level.
The rural municipality has blacktopped the major road links here. Chairman of Haldibari Rural Municipality Rabindra Lingden said that the blacktop of the roads was initiated by managing Rs 15 million annually from internal sources and added that much more can be done if sufficient funds were received from the federal and provincial governments.
In the current fiscal year, the rural municipality has planned to construct 16 kilometers of road. The rural municipality is also working to build bridges by replacing makeshift wooden and bamboo bridges. Likewise, the construction of two motorable bridges over the Bhuteni and Bhusudi rivers is being expedited under the multi-year project. —RSS
