PSB will build on illustrious heritage of Radio Nepal and Nepal Television: Chair Dr Bista
December 18, Kathmandu: The newly-appointed Executive Chairperson of the Public Service Broadcasting Agency, Dr. Mahendra Bista, was officially welcomed at Radio Nepal’s premises in Singha Durbar on Wednesday.
Addressing the welcome program, Executive Chair, Dr. Bista reflected on the proud history of Radio Nepal and its invaluable contributions to the nation.
He emphasized the importance of branding PSB, stressing that the merger of Radio Nepal and NTV was not driven by financial reasons but by the goal of improving content delivery and making the public’s voice heard via media.
Likewise, he further announced plans to unite both institutions under a single banner, incorporating the logos of both Radio Nepal and NTV, adding “This move would mark the beginning of a new era for PSB”.
Dr Bista also highlighted the critical need for cooperation among employees from both Radio Nepal and NTV. The PSB Executive Chair urged all employees to foster a positive work culture and encouraged resource sharing between Radio Nepal and NTV to reduce operational costs and increase efficiency.
Looking ahead, Dr. Bista stressed the importance of internal democracy and open communication within the organization.
Dr. Bista also called for careful planning, including the development of a new budget and organizational structure, to ensure the long-term success of PSB.
He urged all employees to work together to make PSB a transparent, efficient, and successful institution that would serve the public with integrity.
Deputy Executive Director of Radio Nepal, Khagendra Khatri, also addressed the gathering, emphasizing the need to uphold the core values of Radio Nepal in the days ahead.
Deputy Executive Director, Khatri stressed that both Radio Nepal and Nepal Television as a PSB agency must remain focused on their mission to serve the public and provide unbiased, reliable content.
Bishnu Ram Neupane, Deputy General Manager of Nepal Television, emphasized the significance of uniting Radio Nepal and NTV under the PSB.
He acknowledged that while the two entities were once separate, their merger has created a larger, more robust organization.
Deputy General Manager, Neupane called for transparency, cooperation, and a focus on institutional goals, urging staff members to work together in addressing challenges and engaging the public effectively.
