Saudi Arabia hands over 25 tonnes of dates to Nepal under KSrelief initiative

May 11, Kathmandu: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) has provided 25 tonnes of Saudi dates to Nepal as part of a humanitarian assistance initiative.

Saudi Ambassador to Nepal Fahd Mnikhr and Chhabilal Poudel, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs, signed the handover document during a programme held at the Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Kupondole, Lalitpur, on Monday.

The dates will be distributed to orphanages, Muslim organisations, universities and other community institutions across the country.

Speaking at the programme, Ambassador Mnikhr thanked the Government of Nepal for its smooth facilitation and coordination in the handover process. He also expressed appreciation to Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman for their continued support toward humanitarian initiatives around the world.

The ambassador also expressed hope for further strengthening the cordial relations between Nepal and Saudi Arabia.

KSrelief representative Abdul Majeed also attended the programme.
