Third Monday of Shrawan: Devotees visit Pashupati and other temples since morning
Kathmandu: Pilgrims have visited Kathmandu’s Pashupatinath temple and other sites across Nepal since early morning.
Likewise, all four temple doors opened at 4:00 AM to accommodate devotees arriving for worship at Pashupatinath.
The spokesperson for the Pashupati Area Development Trust, Rewati Raman Adhikari, said that on the third Monday of the Nepali month Shrawan ( August ), devotees gathered to offer prayers at Pashupatinath, underscoring the spiritual significance of the occasion.
The occasion highlights another tradition of Bolbam Yatra, where devotees carry holy water from Sundarijal to Pashupatinath during Shrawan (July-August).
During this time, an increase in devotees tends to heighten security, volunteers, and health services to help the worshippers.
