Book on Gurung language, grammar, and syntax published
Gandaki: A book entitled ‘Language, Grammar and Gurung Syntax: An Introduction’, authored by educationist Ratna Man Gurung has been published. The book is in Gurung, Nepali, and English languages.
Gurung, who is also a litterateur, is involved in enriching the education sector in Pokhara for the last four decades. He is the former chairperson of PABSON, NELTA, and the Rotary Club of Midtown. He is the incumbent president of the Gurung Academic and Professionals’ Forum.
Former Chancellor of Nepal Academy of Music and Drama, Sarubhakta, released the book amidst a program here on Saturday. He appreciated the author for coming up with a book on an important topic of Gurung linguistics.
Making a review of the book, the Chief of the Department of Nepali, Prithvi Narayan Campus, Kusumakar Neupane said the book is a useful creation for both Nepali and English readers who are interested in language and linguistics.
The Part One of the book discusses in detail language, grammar, and script while Part Two is on the Gurung syntax.
Speaking on the occasion, the author Gurung said this book is an outcome of his studious habit and he plans to write books on phonetics, vocabulary, semantics, etc in the future.
Lyricist and Tamu Dhi UK advisor Ekendra Gurung, book publisher Bhakti Devi Gurung, Forum’s former president Sundar Gurung, educationist George John, Tamu Dhi Nepal’s president Hum Bahadur Gurung, among the speakers presented a critique on the book on the occasion.
