Foreign Affairs Minister Khanal arrives in Fiji to participate in climate event

Kathmandu: Foreign Affairs Minister Shishir Khanal has arrived in Fiji to participate in the Pre-COP leaders’ event on climate change.

A Nepali delegation led by Minister Khanal reached Fiji today, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The event is being held in Fiji and Tuvalu today and tomorrow. Minister Khanal is scheduled to address the leaders’ plenary session on October 6.

His participation is aimed at highlighting the impacts of climate change, climate justice and the concerns of mountainous countries on the international stage.

After the events in Fiji and Tuvalu, Minister Khanal will travel to Australia, where he is scheduled to meet Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong on October 8.

He will also interact with members of the Nepali community in Canberra and Sydney. Minister Khanal is scheduled to return to Nepal on October 12.
