Political forces must unite for the sake of nationality and democracy: General Secretary Pokharel

Kathmandu: General Secretary of CPN (UML), Shankar Pokharel, has emphasized the need for all political forces to unite once again to uphold nationality and democracy.

Addressing the inaugural session of the Nepali Congress 15th National General Convention here today, General Secretary Pokharel stated that all political parties must stand together on issues concerning nationality and democracy and work towards fulfilling the aspirations of the youth.

Stating that the Rastriya Swatantra Party secured a near two-thirds majority in the recent election, reflecting the public’s desire for stability, he said we must not allow the hopes and expectations of the new generation regarding good governance, service delivery, and employment to turn into disappointment.

Pokharel remarked that while Rastriya Swatantra Party Chair Rabi Lamichhane has taken the initiative to engage in dialogue with political parties, the government has failed to consult political parties on national issues.
