Indian Ambassador pays farewell call on President, Vice-President

Kathmandu, Sept. 29: Indian Ambassador to Nepal, Naveen Srivastava, today paid separate farewell calls on President Ramchandra Paudel and Vice-President Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav as he completed his tenure in Nepal.

During his meeting with President Paudel at the President’s Office-Shital Niwas- various aspects of Nepal-India bilateral relations were discussed.

Matters of mutual interest and concern were also discussed during the meeting, according to a statement issued by President’s Office Spokesperson Krishna Bahadur Shahi.

On the occasion, President Paudel congratulated Ambassador Srivastava on successfully completing his tenure.

Similarly, during his farewell meeting with Vice-President Yadav at the Vice-President’s Office in Lainchaur, the Vice-President appreciated Srivastava’s contribution to further strengthening the historic, cultural and friendly ties between Nepal and India.

Vice-President Yadav also thanked the Government of India for the humanitarian and disaster relief assistance provided to Nepal during the recent devastating floods, according to the Vice-President’s Secretariat.

In response, Ambassador Srivastava said he made every possible effort during his tenure to further deepen Nepal-India relations.

Srivastava also added that he would always cherish his memories of Nepal and the Nepali people.

Ambassador Srivastava, who assumed office in June 2022, is returning to India upon completion of his tenure.
