Work on BP Highway upgrading suspended

Kathmandu: The government is preparing to suspend construction work on the BP Highway for a few days, taking into account the heavy rainfall forecast.

Minister for Infrastructure Development Sunil Lamsal stated that considering the forecast of heavy rain in various parts of the country plans are underway to halt the ongoing track construction work on the BP Highway for a few days.

“The decision to suspend construction work for a few days has been made in light of potential rainfall, landslides, and other challenges that could affect the road. This measure is expected to help minimize potential risks and ensure safer, more convenient traffic operations,” he said.

Minister Lamsal has urged all travelers and the general public to exercise caution while traveling and to avoid taking unnecessary risks, considering the potential hazards posed by imminent rain and landslides.
