Night-time vehicular movement ban along Kanti Highway and Bhainse-Bhimphedi-Kulekhani road

Hetauda: The District Administration Office (DAO), Makwanpur has banned the operation of vehicles during the night along the Kanti Highway and Bhainse-Bhimphedi-Deurali-Kulekhani road section in view of the rising risks of floods and landslides due to heavy rainfall.

Citing the special weather bulletin from the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Administrative Officer at the District Administration Office, Makwanpur, Santosh Subedi, informed that there is a possibility of very heavy rainfall with storms from September 25-27, so the travel timings on those roads have been set accordingly.

He further said vehicles will only be allowed to depart from Chaughada to Kathmandu along the Kanti Highway from 5 am to 5 pm until further notice.

On the Bhainse–Bhimfedi–Deurali–Kulekhani road section, vehicles will be allowed to depart from Hetauda’s Chaukital to Kathmandu and from Phakhel’s Humane and Sisneri’s Ramchandra Bhanjyang to Hetauda from 5 am to 5 pm.

Traffic will be completely closed along Kanti Highway and the Bhainse–Bhimfedi–Deurali–Kulekhani road section after 7 pm at night.

Considering the potential risks of floods and landslides due to heavy rain, the administration has requested travelers to move only within the designated times.
