Government will introduce five special packages to boost economy: Finance Minister Wagle

Kathmandu: Finance Minister Dr Swarnim Wagle says the government is preparing to introduce five special packages to make the economy more dynamic.

Addressing the 28th annual general meeting of the Society of Economic Journalists-Nepal, Finance Minister Wagle said the first package will focus on recovery and rehabilitation following the Bhotekoshi flood.

The second package will include a 10 to 12-point reform plan to revive the sluggish capital market, while the third will focus on promoting the private sector.

The fourth package aims to help remove Nepal from the Financial Action Task Force, grey list, and the fifth will focus on mobilising international financing for flood recovery.

Meanwhile, FNCCI President Anjan Shrestha called for a special package to support businesses affected by the Bhotekoshi flood.
