Relief amount continues to govt fund for disaster survivors

Kathmandu, Sept 11: The government has been receiving monetary assistance as relief to the victims of August 26 disaster and for post-disaster recovery.

The relief amounts are deposited to government accounts designated at various banks under the Prime Minister National Disaster Relief Fund.

The National Federation of Transport Entrepreneurs deposited over Rs 9.1 million to the relief fund today. The Federation team led by general secretary Punya Prasad Sitaula handed over a cheque of the assistance to Minister for Infrastructures Development, Sunil Lamsal.

Jhapa chapter of the Private and Boarding Schools of Nepal (PABSON) chipped in Rs 7.5 million to the fund for relief to the disaster victims, according to chapter chair Chhatra Bahadur Karki.

Rs 7.7 million was contributed to the disaster relief fund by Kalaiya Sub-Metropolitan City. The amount was collected from teachers, employees and health workers from the local government, said mayor Binod Prasad Sah.

The private schools and students from Banke district provided Rs 6.5 million to the government for managing relief to the flood survivors and disaster recovery. It was shared by PABSON Banke chapter chair Bikash Acharya.
