Norway provides emergency relief aid to Nepal via EU civil protection mechanism

KATHMANDU, Sept 8: Norway has delivered an emergency consignment of relief supplies to Nepal via the European Union Civil Protection Mechanism to aid ongoing humanitarian and recovery operations following devastating flash floods along the Bhote Koshi corridor.

The shipment, which arrived in Kathmandu on Monday, includes critical medical supplies, emergency energy systems, and technical field equipment.

At Tribhuvan International Airport, the European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (EU ECHO) Rapid Response Coordinator for Asia and the Pacific, Isabelle D’Haudt, formally presented the relief cargo to Minister for Science, Technology and Innovation Mahabir Pun.

According to the Delegation of the European Union to Nepal, the shipment represents the first wave of participating state contributions arriving through the EU Civil Protection Mechanism, with additional air bridge deliveries from partner European nations scheduled throughout the week.
