Bhotekoshi Flood: Two Rescued Alive from Trishuli-3 ‘A’ Hydropower Project Tunnel

Nuwakot: Two people trapped inside the tunnel of the Trishuli-3 ‘A’ Hydropower Project following the devastating flood in the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa on August 26 have been rescued alive.

According to Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) lawmaker Shriram Neupane, Sanjay Shah and Kabir Maharjan were rescued alive from inside the tunnel.

Earlier, two-way communication had been established between the rescue team and the people trapped inside the tunnel. When the rescue team reassured them, saying, “Do not panic, we are rescuing you,” those inside responded clearly, “Okay.”

Nepal Army and Armed Police Force teams have been mobilized to search for and rescue other people who may still be trapped inside the tunnel.

According to lawmaker Neupane, rescue teams are continuing their efforts to locate and rescue the remaining people.
