Third batch of Chinese aid lands in Kathmandu with forensic specialists and bailey bridges

KATHMANDU, Sept 3: The third consignment of Chinese emergency relief supplies arrived at Tribhuvan International Airport on Thursday afternoon aboard a PLA Air Force Y-20A large transport aircraft, accompanied by ten Chinese forensic specialists.

The incoming medical experts, representing the fourth team of Chinese technical specialists deployed to Nepal, will immediately assist authorities in expediting victim identification efforts across flood-ravaged regions.

The emergency cargo includes mortuary freezers, medical epidemic prevention equipment, daily survival necessities, and critical infrastructure components, including Bailey bridges.

Additional heavy equipment required to erect the first set of Bailey bridges has entered Nepal overland through the Lizi–Nechung border port.

Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Zhang Maoming and Minister for Science, Technology and Innovation Mahabir Pun attended the airport handover ceremony to receive the supplies and welcome the Chinese technical team.
