Kathmandu, Aug. 31: Generally cloudy weather is expected to prevail across Nepal today, with light to moderate rainfall reported at a few places in Koshi, Bagmati and Lumbini provinces.

According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is likely in a few places in the mountainous and hilly regions of the country.

Heavy rainfall is also possible at one or two places in the mountainous areas of Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces and in the Tarai belt of Sudurpashchim Province.

The Department said monsoon winds are currently influencing weather conditions across the country. The monsoon trough is also positioned slightly north of its normal location.

People in areas vulnerable to heavy rainfall have been advised to remain alert to possible weather-related risks.
