Full-Size 14.2 kg LPG Cylinders to Return to Market from Wednesday

Kathmandu, July 15: Consumers will once again be able to purchase full-size 14.2 kg Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinders from Wednesday, following an improvement in fuel supplies.

The Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has instructed all LPG bottling industries to resume filling and distributing 14.2 kg cooking gas cylinders, according to NOC spokesperson Manoj Thakur.

The decision comes after the supply of LPG from the Indian Oil Corporation improved, easing the shortage that had affected the domestic market in recent months.

The NOC has also set the retail price of a 14.2 kg LPG cylinder at Rs 2,060.

Four months ago, the Corporation had temporarily introduced the sale of half-filled 7.1 kg cylinders after LPG imports declined due to supply disruptions linked to the conflict involving Iran, Israel, and the United States. With supplies now stabilizing, the NOC has decided to restore the distribution of full-capacity cylinders.
