Minister Chaudhary, who arrived in Chitwan for her party, Rastriya Swatantra Party’s general convention, acquired information on biodiversity conservation, management of wildlife, scientific research and measures to reduce human-wildlife conflict.

During the visit, she expressed her commitment to firmly take all steps to maintain coexistence between wildlife and humans. Minister Chaudhary also inspected the proposed Tiger Sanctuary construction site in Devnagar, Chitwan.

More than a dozen problematic tigers across the country are kept in enclosures. In the backdrop of their management becoming costly, the government has put forward a plan to build a Tiger Sanctuary in an area of about 50 hectares in Devnagar.

Minister Chaudhary expressed his belief that the construction of the Tiger Sanctuary would not only provide a natural environment for the problematic and injured tigers but also provide a great boost to ecotourism.

Similarly, Minister Chaudhary also took information about the problems and needs of the elephant breeding centre in Khorsor, Chitwan and visited the Gharial Breeding Centre.

On the same occasion, a team from the ministry inspected the final preparations being made for the relocation of rhinoceros to the Panchakanya Community Forest (Ratnagar area) in Tikauli, Chitwan.

After inspecting the Armed Forest Guard Training Centre in Tikauli, she emphasised the need to enhance the capacity of forest guards, modernise physical infrastructure and training for controlling wildlife crime.

In an interaction with the locals, Minister Chaudhary expressed her commitment that the government would prioritise relief, rescue, and long-term infrastructure to minimise human-wildlife conflict and maintain coexistence.
