Economic Census: some enterprises refuse to provide details
Kathmandu: Some industrial and commercial establishments are reported to have refused to provide information for the ‘Economic Census, 2082’.

They refused to provide data in the economic census conducted by the National Statistics Office, saying that they did not receive information and some are not sure about the confidentiality of the data collected.
Meanwhile, stating that no details that reveal individual or institutional identity will be made public, Chief Statistics Officer Dr Kamal Prasad Pokharel has urged all concerned not to hide details, as refusing to provide data is tantamount to a criminal offence.
The collected details will be kept confidential as per the Statistics Act, 2079 BS. Deputy Chief Statistical Officer and Spokesperson Dhundiraj Lamichhane said that the details of the commercial establishments that refused to provide data were collected with the special support of the local level.
