India Hands Over 61 Vehicles to Nepal for Election Management
Kathmandu, Jan 21: The Government of India has provided 61 vehicles to Nepal to support election-related activities.
The vehicles were formally handed over by the Indian Embassy in Nepal during a programme held at the Ministry of Home Affairs on Tuesday. According to Home Ministry spokesperson Anand Kafle, the vehicles were delivered in the first phase, with more consignments to follow. He said India has committed to supplying a total of 388 vehicles for Nepal’s election process.
Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal said that the 61 vehicles received on Tuesday are part of the broader assistance India plans to provide ahead of the elections. Expressing appreciation for India’s timely support, he noted that the vehicles would play an important role in ensuring effective election management.
The additional vehicles are expected to be handed over in subsequent phases before the polls.
