Israeli Ambassador calls on PM, Foreign Minister

January 14, Kathmandu: Israeli Ambassador to Nepal Shmulik Arie Bass made high-level courtesy visits to Nepal’s top leadership following the Government of Nepal’s decision to pass the labour immigration agreement between Nepal and Israel.
Ambassador Bass paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Sushil Karki on Tuesday. During the meeting, bilateral issues were discussed, with particular focus on the recently approved labour immigration agreement and the protocols for its implementation.

On Wednesday, the Ambassador called on Foreign Minister Bala Nanda Sharma at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. According to the Ministry, the meeting focused on matters of bilateral interest and ongoing cooperation between the two countries.
The labour agreement is expected to facilitate safe, legal, and structured employment opportunities for Nepali workers in Israel and further strengthen people-to-people ties.
Janan Bebar, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of Israel in Kathmandu, accompanied the Ambassador during the meetings.
