RSP and Kathmandu Mayor Shah Reach Seven-Point Political Agreement Ahead of HoR Elections

Kathmandu, Dec 28: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) and Kathmandu Mayor Balendra Shah have finalized a seven-point agreement on key political issues ahead of the March 5 House of Representatives elections. The agreement was signed this morning by RSP President Rabi Lamichhane and Mayor Shah.

According to the agreement shared on social media, the party will uphold the youth-led movement against corruption and poor governance and ensure that the demands of affected families, including the injured and martyrs, are addressed.

Under the agreement, Rabi Lamichhane will continue as the party’s central president, while Balendra Shah will be the party’s prime ministerial candidate for the upcoming elections and, if elected, will lead the parliamentary party.

The agreement also confirms that the party’s name and election symbol will remain that of the Rastriya Swatantra Party, with its office in Kathmandu. Provisions have been made to involve youth in the party’s organizational structure.

Following the agreement, the updated party structure will be registered with the Election Commission, and a call will be made for other alternative political forces to join the RSP.
