PABSON, N-PABSAN demand correction on School Education Bill
Kathmandu, August 21: School operators have demanded corrections to certain provisions of the School Education Act.
At a demonstration organised by Private and Boarding Schools’ Organisation Nepal (PABSON) and National Private and Boarding Schools’ Association Nepal (N-PABSAN) at Maitighar Mandala on Thursday, the participants had carried ply cards reading ‘ Private school education the first choice of parents’, ‘contribution of private school, building strong economy’, ‘Why private school should always have to face discrimination’ among others.
‘Removing ‘Full scholarship’ word from the bill, removing the provision of making schools operate after their registration as per the company act as ‘non-profit’ are the demands of PABSON and N-PABSAN. The private school operators demand that the concerned school should have the authority to distribute scholarships and that an arrangement be made to provide scholarships by forming a transparent committee.
The Education, Science and Technology Committee under the House of Representatives has passed the School Education Bill on Thursday.
