NPYC commends Pakistan’s role in facilitating U.S-Iran ceasefire

April 10, Kathmandu: The Nepal-Pakistan Youth Council (NPYC) has commended Pakistan’s leadership for facilitating a temporary ceasefire between the United States and Iran, describing the development as a significant step toward de-escalation and regional stability.

In a statement issued by the Convener Rachumani Luitel, the Council praised Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Army Chief Asim Munir for what it called exemplary diplomatic engagement in securing the recently announced two-week cessation of hostilities.

The Council said the ceasefire marks an important milestone in reducing tensions and fostering constructive dialogue between the two sides. It credited Pakistan’s leadership for advancing mutual understanding and reinforcing adherence to international norms.

Highlighting what it termed visionary statesmanship, the NPYC said Pakistan’s proactive mediation reflects a commitment to principled diplomacy and responsible international engagement at a time of complex global challenges.

The statement further noted that such initiatives strengthen both bilateral and multilateral relations while offering a model for youth-led diplomacy focused on peace, cooperation, and stability.

Reiterating its support for efforts aimed at sustainable peace, the Council emphasised the importance of protecting civilian lives and upholding international law.

The NPYC said it remains committed to promoting constructive engagement and youth-driven diplomatic initiatives inspired by such developments.
