Karnali Chief Minister insists on people’s participation in development process

Kakrebihar (Surkhet), June 30: Chief Minister of Karnali Province, Yamlal Kandel, has viewed that national prosperity is achievable provided that citizens become aware and engaged in the development process.

“Public awareness is the foundation of development,” the Chief Minister said, adding that no development plan or project can succeed without the active participation of the people. During his interaction with locals of Birendranagar Municipality-11 on Monday, he stressed the importance of direct public involvement in implementing development plans.

“Merely including plans in the Red Book is not enough to bring about changes. People’s participation is necessary since the needs assessment to the implementation of plans. Their direct involvement is essential in the entire steps of development,” he said.
