Kathmandu University’s newly appointed Vice-Chancellor takes oath

March 18, Kathmandu: The newly appointed Vice-Chancellor of Kathmandu University, Prof. Dr. Achyut Prasad Wagle, took the oath of office and secrecy today before Prime Minister and Chancellor KP Sharma Oli.

The oath-taking ceremony was held at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singha Durbar.

Prime Minister Oli appointed Dr Wagle as Vice-Chancellor on Monday, following the recommendation of a search and recommendation committee formed to select a candidate for the vacant post.

The swearing-in ceremony was attended by notable figures, including Minister for Education, Science, and Technology Bidya Bhattarai, Chief Advisor to the Prime Minister Bishnu Prasad Rimal, Chief Secretary of the Government of Nepal Eknarayan Aryal, and Secretary of the Ministry of Education Dr. Deepak Kafle, among others.

On the occasion, Prime Minister Oli extended his best wishes to the new Vice-Chancellor, acknowledging the delay in the appointment process and urging all stakeholders to work collaboratively in the future to maintain the university as a shared and robust institution.
