On Air Station:

More investment in agriculture stressed

Kathmandu: Experts on the economic sector have stressed the need for increasing investment in the agriculture sector of the nation’s economic development.

At an interaction programme organized in Kathmandu on Saturday, they said that the government and political parties should be serious to make the country self-reliant as the nation’s economic status has plunged into crisis.

Economist Prof Dr Kushum Shakya observed that economic instability, rising unemployment and higher inflation led to further crises in the country.

Likewise, economist Sanjay Acharya viewed lack of transparency in the government policy drafting process and lack of farsightedness resulted in the country’s poor economic growth.

Also speaking at the event, economic Ghanshyam Dawadi argued the cost of health care has become higher due to lack of effective intervention of the government sector in the health care service.
