Public media should play an effective role for social and economic transformation: PSB Nepal Chairperson Dr. Bista

Janakpurdham: Dr. Mahendra Bista, Executive Chairperson of Public Service Broadcasting Nepal, emphasized the crucial role of public media in driving social and economic transformation.

During an on-site inspection of Radio Nepal’s regional broadcasting office in Bardibas, Mahottari on Friday, Dr. Bista underscored that PSB Nepal has a responsibility to highlight positive societal issues.

He also announced plans to establish the Madhesh Province Bureau Office of Public Service Broadcasting Nepal in Janakpurdham, the capital of Madhesh Province, and called for the support and cooperation of the provincial government in this effort.

Dr. Bista expressed his commitment to expanding the service and reach of regional broadcasting, noting his satisfaction with the regional office’s efforts to prioritize the national language in its programs and news broadcasts.

Additionally, he stressed the importance of continuous skill development for employees working in radio and television.

Rampukar Ram, head of Radio Nepal’s provincial broadcasting office in Bardibas, provided an update on the overall operations of the office.

Dr. Bista also toured the studio, transmitters, and the newly constructed administrative building of the provincial office.
