Snowfall halts traffic on Mid-Hill highway in Rukum East

February 28, Kathmandu: Heavy snowfall in Rukum East has affected the Lukum-Patihalna section of the Mid-Hill Highway, temporarily halting traffic.

The snowfall, which began on Thursday night, has covered the road with snow, pausing vehicle movement.

District Traffic Police Chief Ram Awatar Chaudhary reported that while the snow has stopped traffic, efforts were made on Friday morning to assist some vehicles with tire chains. The ongoing snowfall has kept vehicles stationary for now.

The snowfall impacts the Mid-Hill Highway every year, causing delays for travelers during the winter season.
