Private sector urged to invest in energy sector
Kathmandu: Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Dipak Khadka, has urged the private sector to invest in the energy sector as there is a guarantee of market for the produced power.
Launching a ‘Document Management System’ installed by the Electricity Regulatory Commission to make its performance technology-friendly here today, Minister Khadka requested all to invest in the energy sector as there is no problem with the market of the produced power.
He shared that the government has set a target of producing 28,500 megawatts of electricity within 2035 and adding such technology would help to achieve such a target.
The government would gradually facilitate to end of problems seen in power production, stated the Minister.
He mentioned that there is a significant contribution of the private sector to the development of the energy sector as the energy sector is the main basis of the country’s development.
Similarly, Secretary of the Ministry, Suresh Acharya, shared that the responsibility of the commission is crucial to fulfil the government’s goal for energy development.
He emphasized the need to take the online system systematically by resolving problems of cyber security. Chairperson of Independent Power Producers’ Association Nepal, Ganesh Karki, said ‘Energy Development Roadmap-2081’ was historic in the country’s hydropower development.
Likewise, the Chairperson of the Commission, Ram Prasad Dhital, shared that an online system was launched to make public service responsible and accountable as well as technology-friendly.
He clarified that the Commission was committed to the campaign of making all services of the Commission fully technology-friendly.
