Chair Oli urges FSU to be united for election
Kathmandu: Chairman of the CPN UML, KP Sharma Oli, has urged the free student union to be united for the coming election.
Addressing a national workshop organized by the All Nepal National Free Students Union (ANNFSU) at UML central office in the wake of the forthcoming election of the free students’ union, Chairman Oli asserted that he was a competent and successful political player who did not depend on others but showed individual prowess.
Self-confidence counts much for such a mission, he reminded. The students’ struggle had begun along with political movement in the country, he said, adding that martyr Ganga Lal Shrestha had prepared the first speech on human rights before the establishment of democracy in Nepal.
This very movement is the precursor of UML’s party-building and organizational expansion. The UML came to the present stage of a national force with the very seed of struggle and unity, and it is now making headway to becoming a defining political force, he shared.
‘University is not the arena for force nor for the armed struggle but a peaceful sphere,’ Oli underlined.
Even a book on the student’s festival was released on the occasion. General Secretary Shankar Pokhrel viewed only ANNFSU as the first front of students’ choice.
The election of the free students’ union is being held coming February 25.
