By-election: Jhakri of CPN (Maoist Centre) elected ward chairperson

Thulibheri (Dolpa), Dec 2: Nar Bahadur Jhakri of CPN (Maoist Centre) has been elected chairperson of Tripurasundari municipality-5 in Dolpa district.

Jhakri was elected to the post with 161 votes in the by-election held on Sunday. His nearest rival, Nar Bahadur Roka of the CPN (UML) got 116 votes, according to the District Election Office.

The post of ward chairperson had fallen vacant after Nanda Lal Roka elected as chairperson from the CPN (UML) in local-level election held in 2079 BS, died due to illness.
